Tacos Y Gorditas. Many of the weddings and events that I’ve worked in 2017 and 2018 have been serving street tacos, and one of the best street taco caterers that I’ve worked with is Tacos Y Gorditas. Their street tacos are larger in size, and they have a secret way of preparing them (I won’t give it away here!) that makes their tacos soooo scrumptious! It’s grounds and large clubhoue are perfect for large weddings and private events, and it’s hosting services can help make any event spectacular, from golf tournaments to receptions! Park Hyatt Aviara Resort. Located in Carlsbad, California, the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort is owned and operated by the Hyatt. Known for it’s majestic golf course and majestic accomodations, the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort is an amazing venue for large private and corporate events. Bahia Belle. The Bahia Belle is a turn-of-the-centruty, Mississippi-style sternwheeler boat that cruises Mission Bay. It’s available for private party rentals, and is an amazing experience for wedding guests to cruise around and enjoy the evening nights on Mission Bay in San Diego. Coronado Community Center. Located on Coronado Island just down the street from the Hotel del Coronado, the Coronado Community Center is beautiful community center with scenic views of the marina’s nestled between the Coronado Island and San Diego. It offers both indoor and outdoor venues, with each providing gorgeous backdrops for any wedding or event. As a professional wedding photographer in San Diego, Fotility Photography & Videography has photographed weddings at this venue, and absolutely loves shooting with the marina as the backdrop! The Coronado Community Center can accommodate both small (less than thirty people) to large (over 300 people) groups! They can provide catering services, or you can hire an outside service. Embassy Suites, Temecula.. This is a nice, affordable hotel ballroom conveniently located just off the I15 in Temecula, with easy access to Temcula Wine Country! The hotel is very well maintained, and the ballroom supports small to medium size events. Service staff is caring and attentive, and their catering services have wonderful presentation and is good. Hotel del Coronado. Located on Coronado Island in San Diego, the Hotel del Coronado is a historic beachfront hotel, and one of the oldest wooden hotel structures still around. It offers a beautifully maintained, traditional grand hotel, and amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. The Hotel del Coronado is an absolutely gorgeous place for portraits and weddings, but be aware, professional photogrpahy at the hotel does require permission! Journey Golf Course, Temecula. Located just north of San Diego in Temecula, California, Journey Golf Course is owned and operated by the Penchanga Casino. It’s beautiful and lush golf course also offers amazing, state of the art, event hosting services in a relatively new clubhouse that spews class and grandor. L’Auberge, Del Mar. One of the most desired, high end destination venues in San Diego, L’Auberge in Del Mar doesn’t disappoint. With it’s elegant rooms and surroundings, to its superior event services team and venues, matched with it’s gorgeous ocean views visible from all of it’s room decks, the outdoor bar, and viewing patio in between it’s venues! Located just north of San Diego, the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club is a private club that boasts 36 golf holes, social amenities, and personalized service for a wide range of events, including private parties and weddings! I love shooting weddings at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, as the golf course provides a beautiful, natural backdrop for some amazing bride and groom portraits! Lazy H Ranch.
Marina Village. Located in Mission Bay, Marina Village is a wildly populare and affordable venue for nearly every type of event, big or small. As a professional event photographer in San Diego, Fotility Photography & Videography has shot numerous weddings, reunions, corporate events and birthday parties in both indoor and outdoor locations at Marina Village. Ballrooms can accommodate both small (less than thirty people) to large (over 500 people) groups, and provide beautiful views of the marina and San Diego sunsets! Marina Village can provide catering services, or you can hire an outside service. Like most professional event venues, Marina Village does require all vendors to provide proof of their General Liablity Insurance, which we keep on file with them! Maritime Museum. Located overlooking the San Diego Bay just steps from the USS Midway, the San Diego Maritime Museum has one of the worlds finest collections of historic ships, including the Star of India. Old Poway Park. This park offers ceremony services under a large, outdoor gazebo, and reception services both outdoors and indoors! For a creative San Diego wedding photographer like myself, Old Poway Park is brimming with A TON of beautiful backdrops that are perfect for many different wedding photography composition styles! Located in Poway, this rustic park offers lush natural park settings, historical buildings (i.e. barns, wedding/meeting halls and a restaurant!), and even a couple of decommissioned train cars! Not to mention it is home to the Poway Midland Railroad, which has an actual working train, tracks and a small bridge! I prefer doing sunset sessions here, as it’s less crowded and the train have stopped running, giving me access to shoot on the tracks and bridges. Pala Mesa Resort.
Parq. Located in the Gaslamp Quarter in Downtown San Diego, Parq is a high end restaurant and club that can be rented out for private parties and events. Good food, great service, wonderful layout to handle both large and medium sized crowds! To see some of my event photos at Parq, click here.
Royal India, Miramar. Royal India in Miramar is part of the Roya India restaurant group, and provides amazing Indian cuisine paired with great service! The ballroom at their Miramar location is quite large, and is perfect for hosting both private and corporate events, including debuts, quinceaneras, retirement parties and weddings. Paradise Point Resort. I photographed one of my first weddings at the Paradise Point Resort in 2015, so it holds many fond memories for me. It’s a beautiful resort located overlooking Mission Bay, with gorgeous views for amazing wedding portraits all around, a large ballroom, and a wonderful service staff to help ensure your event goes off without a hitch! Pine Hills Lodge, Julian. Located in the hills of Julian, just east of San Diego, the Pine Hills Lodge is a quaint bed and breakfast inn with a strong country vibe. It’s wooden lodge, modest guest cabins, and natural grounds are the perfect backdrop for small to medium sized weddings wanting that rustic, country feeling! Rancho Bernardo Inn. Located inland and in North County San Diego, the Rancho Bernardo Inn is a luxury resort that offers lodging, ballrooms, restaurants, and a golf course. Sacred Mountain Retreat. This is one of my absolutely favorite wedding venues in San Diego! Located in Julian, California, Sacred Mountain Retreat is a privatley owned ranch nestled in between mutiple rolling hills with amazing views! There are multiple, rustic buildings spread throughout the retreat, including a gorgeous barn, main house, and various guest houses, it’s perfect for large or small weddings in San Diego. The primary ceremony location is outdoors in a clearing that faces west and offers some of the most beautiful sunset views in town! San Diego Convention Center. Located in downtown San Diego, and home to the annual San Diego Comic-Con conference, the San Diego Convention Center offers state of the art trade show and conference services to both large and small companies and organizations worldwide. San Diego Country Club. Located in Chula Vista, the San Diego Country Club has been a distinctive part of San Diego’s history since 1897. San Diego Temple. The LDS San Diego Temple is a Mormon temple owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is an amazingly beautiful temple, and a gorgeous setting for private Mormon marriages. Although the binding ceremonies are held in private, guests are allowed to wait outside, and the temple grounds make for some incredibly beautiful wedding photos! Shadowridge Country Club. Located in Vista (North San Diego), Shadowridge Country Club offers a wonderful venue for weddings and private parties. It’s banquet hall offers stunning views of their lush golf course, and they have a beautifuL outdoor gazebo and private area for ceremonies (away from their clubhouse, guests are bussed to the ceremony via club services). The golf course also offers many amenities, such as private changing rooms for the bride and groom, full bar, catering services and more. Sycuan Resort. Owned and operated by the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, the Sycuan Resort in El Cajon is a beautiful and well maintained golf course and resort that is a wonderful venue for both large and small corporate events, private parties and weddings! The Sycuan Resort has a cute little changing room for the bride, an outdoor area with a large gazebo for weddings and ceremonies, and a large banquet hall perfect for any reception! The Grand Del Mar. As one of the only five star luxury resorts in San Diego, The Grand Del Mar definitely meets its expectations. The architecture and ambience of The Grand is exquisite, making it no big wonder why you may bump into world renowned athletes and movie stars during your stay or event. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure it’s guests privacy is respected, and their stay or events at The Grand Del Mar are nothing short of amazing. If you’re planning on just doing a shoot here (i.e. family portraits, engagements, etc.), beware, they take guest privacy VERY seriously, so you’ll be extremely limited as to what type of equipment you can bring on your shoot!
The Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens. This wedding and private party venue is a stand alone event venue located in the CDP of Fallbrook in northern San Diego County. It’s grounds are absolutely stunning, and it’s southern mansion style and vibe makes for some amazing weddings and events! They have a traditional, colonial mansion, a large lake, and beautifully manicured grounds and gardens. The service staff at The Grand Tradition is amazing, and the food is delicious! The Point.
The Santaluz Club. This private country club located in the gated community of Santaluz is an absolutely stunning and beautiful venue for private parties, weddings and corporate events. The Santaluz Club offers beautiful views of the private golf course, a grand bar and several banquet rooms to host various sizes of events. The catering and food services is amazing as well! The Thursday Club. This wedding and private party venue is a stand alone event venue located in the neighborhood of Point Loma, within walking distance to Sunset Cliffs. It’s a gorgeous building on it’s own block in the middle of a public neighborhood, with stunning views of the San Diego coastline. The outdoor garden is perfect for small to medium size weddings, positioned so that the sun sets directly in the background during outdoor events. The Thursday Club provides a large reception hall, built in kitchen, private prep room for the bride, and a comfy living room for guests to mingle. The Ultimate Skybox. As a full time event and wedding photographer based in San Diego, I’ve been fortunate enough to have photographed multiple events at The Ulitmate Skybox! Located in downtown San Diego, this exclusive, private venue offers stunning views of the downtown skyline, including a direct look into Petco Park! The venue has many amenities, including private parking for guests, a large, open ballroom, a separate built in bar area, outdoor double sided fireplace, wrap around patio, and amazing stunning views! The Womens Club, Mission Beach. Located in beautiful Mission Beach, San Diego, The Women’s Club is a quaint, small venue nestled along the innner marina side of Mission Bay. This beautiful venue is located right along a popular walking boardwalk, so there will be a lot of foot traffic to stop and marvel at your beautiful outdoor ceremony. They have a small, outdoor patio attached to their main building, or you can choose to have your event right on the adjacent beach! The inside of The Women’s Club is open and quaint, and includes a stage for small, live bands or music. Thibido Community Center.
Tom Ham’s Lighthouse. Located on Harbor Island in San Diego, Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is a high end restaurant and event venue that can be rented out for private parties and events. They have an open deck that overlooks the San Diego skyline, an outdoor area dedicated to wedding ceremonies, and multiple ballrooms to support both large and small groups concurrently.
