Opted for the Nikon D3300 instead of the D3200

Here’s a quick update on my launch into photography as a hobby: after a little further research, I opted to spend a few dollars more and purchased the Nikon D3300 instead of the D3200 that I was originally planning on getting. The primary reasons I opted to move up to the D3300 were:

  1. Shoots about 30% faster fps (5fps vs. 4fps);
  2. Twice as fast fps for video (60fps vs. 30fps);
  3. Longer batter life;
  4. Better light sensitivity; and
  5. WiFi capable, so I can transmit my images directly to my wireless devices (requires optional attachment).

For me, I definitely felt the above features were worth the $100 upgrade! Granted, I’m new to photography, and I’m sure it will take me some time to actually realize the difference in any of the features above. But, better to have it than not! To help offset the added cost, I asked my Dad to purchase the camera on the military base for me (tax free, plus he had a 5% off coupon, so I actually save about $70). I’m glad I upgraded, because I’ve had the D3300 for two days now, and I’m LOVING it!
